THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Dominic Restaurant/Social Club Restaurant Review:

Chef-owner John Villa, who wowed New York with his contemporary fare at JUdson Grill in the mid-90s, opened Dominic Restaurant/Social Club in the former Pico space in TriBeCa. The moderately priced Italian American menu features grilled quail with spinach and eggplant confit and preserved lemon; baked figs with prosciutto, Gorgonzola and almonds; roast suckling pig with Tuscan seasonings and honey; and pan-roasted halibut prepared with watercress, plums, tomato and herbs. Social Club makes reference to the lounge space in the restaurant that is reminiscent of the social clubs frequented by the Italian residents of Villa's childhood neighborhood in suburban New Jersey.
