THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Dressler Restaurant Review:

Dressler is a Brooklyn restaurant through and through. First, the owner also owns Brooklyn’s similarly styled DuMont. Dressler also has Brooklyn style, from the wrought-iron chandeliers to the scruffy floors---all designed and restored by artisans from the borough. The food, too, is classic New Brooklyn Cuisine; a little of this, a little of that, much of it seasonal and most of it classic fare that hits the spot. Entrées in particular are hungry-man dinners, including a pork chop with beans and bacon, monkfish wrapped in bacon and paired with rock shrimp, and chicken and dumplings with mushrooms and bacon. Notice a theme? Yes, they are big believers in pork belly here. If you pace yourself, it’s worth trying some of the lighter appetizers too, including the warm artichoke heart salad with Parmesan and the baby beets with Greek yogurt, both bacon-free. Try the banana mousse for dessert. The well-selected wine list includes bottles from around the globe, with strengths from California and South America.
