With floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on bustling Sixth Avenue, Gusto Organics is an oasis. The menu is a curious combination of steak sandwiches, empanadas, salads and pizza, but as the name suggests, everything at this chic spot is organic: from the chocolate-filled croissants offered at breakfast to the flavorful arugula salads served for lunch to the risottos in the evening. By day, the eatery has a café feel, with patrons reading a book as they sip coffee or nosh on a slice of pizza. By night, the candles are lit and couples share large salads, eggplant-covered pizza, and crispy empanadas stuffed with corn, mozzarella and basil.

I just spent $30 on a side salad and a cup of Crystal Light by missglasssir on 05/19/2009

I knew I should've stuck with my first instinct to walk down the street to Subway... but I've been dying to try Gusto Organics for months. I ordered online, and was promptly delivered an $18 grilled tofu salad (a side salad with a piece of decently grilled unseasoned tofu and two chunks of unripened, hard-as-rock avocado), a $6 side of (allegedly) grilled vegetables (tasted raw, threw them in the garbage), and a $3.50 cup of lemonade (when life gives you lemons, make Crystal Light). This place is an embarrassment! I am now starving and out thirty bucks. Thanks a million, Gusto Organics.
