THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Joy Burger Bar Restaurant Review:

This West Village burger spot’s raison d’être is the large selection of sauces that diners can choose to top their burgers. “The sauces make the difference!” the menu proclaims. Choose from garlic mayo, chimichurri, pesto, spicy mayo, sweet chili, honey mustard and a handful of others (or mix two of them) to go on a burger which comes in three sizes (the middle five-ounce size is quite large). But, in fact, the burger (with its soft, unobtrusive bun) was good enough in its own right that Joy’s slogan is rendered unnecessary. The chimichurri and spicy mayo, however, did add a nice punch to the bland turkey burger. Other menu options include greasy onion rings (diners get six rings for $3.25), chicken sandwiches, and about half a dozen salads. Shakes, sodas, lemonade and beer are the available libations.
