The Conga Room is the multiple-celebrity-owned (Jimmy Smits and Jennifer Lopez are backers) home of L.A.’s Latin dance revival. La Boca restaurant, literally named the mouth of the dance club, feeds the bodies that frenzy on the dance floor. Spicy food to match spicy stepping makes sense, and we’d eat here even without the musical atmosphere, but the whole evening, complete with the hot dance scene, is how you should plan your visit. Reserve early, stay late and salsa the night away. Start, though, with dinner. Appetizers might include ham croquettes or ceveche tossed with cilantro, tomatoes and chile serrano. Entrées sizzle with choices like Argentinean filet of beef with chimichurri sauce and chipotle-garlic mashed potatoes or duck breast with orange-tequila sauce. Guava pastries make refreshing desserts.
