Lilium Restaurant Review:
Located in the basement of the W New York - Union Square, this posh lounge and eatery encourages guests to stay awhile. Massive plush booths that wrap around to form a half circle are great for big groups or for meeting new people. Several house cocktails are on offer, including the Grassy Kroll, a concoction of buffalo grass vodka and fresh muddled ginger; or The Whiskey prepared with rye, sweet vermouth and a dash of absinthe. If your thirst calls for wine, there are a handful of selections available by the glass. The brief food menu is ideal for snacking. Wild mushroom flatbread is cooked until crispy on the bottom, and fried rice balls get an added zing with the outside partially encrusted with Parmesan. Mushroom tempura is also a good bet.
