About chef Curtis Stone: After working at six restaurants in different parts of the world, hosting ten TV shows, appearing as a guest on many more TV and radio shows, and writing several cookbooks, chef Curtis Stone finally opened his own restaurant. Named after his paternal grandmother, who he discovered cooking with at the tender age of four, the Beverly Hills restaurant is small and seats only 25. (Later, he went on to dedicate his Hollywood steakhouse, Gwen, to his maternal grandmother.)

About the restaurant and food: Stone and his team want to take care of guests as they would at an intimate home affair --- quite appropriate for the Australian who is nicknamed after the TV show that made him famous in the U.S., "Take Home Chef." Stone wants the experience to be unique, with an innovative chef’s table-style 10-course dégustation. He composes a monthly set menu inspired by a particular ingredient, drawing as much from Southern California as possible. However, this format will change at the end of 2017, so consider visiting for one of the final themes: "Greatest Hits" in October ($195), "White Truffle" in November ($350) and "Black Truffle" for December. In 2018, Maude will present quarterly-changing tasting menus inspired by various wine regions.
