Maude Restaurant Review:

About chef Curtis Stone: After working at six restaurants in different parts of the world, hosting ten TV shows, appearing as a guest on many more TV and radio shows, and writing several cookbooks, chef Curtis Stone finally opened his own restaurant. Named after his paternal grandmother, who he discovered cooking with at the tender age of four, the Beverly Hills restaurant is small and seats only 24. (Later, he went on to dedicate his Hollywood steakhouse, Gwen, to his maternal grandmother.)

About the restaurant and food: Stone and his team want to take care of guests as they would at an intimate home affair --- quite appropriate for the Australian who is nicknamed after the TV show that made him famous in the U.S., "Take Home Chef." The kitchen is led by chef de cuisine Osiel Gastelum. The tasting menu might feature such dishes as nopales with jicama and avocado, and abalone with beans, clams and ham hock.
