AQ Kafe Restaurant Review:

You don’t have to go to the Ikea cafeteria to get your fill of Scandinavian dishes like hearty Swedish meatballs, gravlax, lingonberries and herring. The streamlined décor gives a chic but homey feel, including wooden pantry shelves (here, they hold edible goods for purchase). Weekend brunch is the best for Swedish pancakes and baked eggs with Alpine ham. Of course, some other European favorites make the menu as well including Hungarian beef goulash---though a bit bland for our taste---and Bauernwurst with sauerkraut. Service can be a bit on the slow side but that leaves time to sit and linger over a linzertorte and a vanilla frappe. With good, hearty food, free WiFi and, best of all for Midtown, cheap prices, this feels like a neighborhood hangout.
