Metro Marché offers an airy respite from the bustling crowds passing through Port Authority. Its red, yellow and black interiors momentarily whisk you to Paris but siren-soaked, Eighth Avenue rudely hints of reality. The food is as consistent as the erratic Port Authority bus schedule. While the lobster bisque is lacking depth, bistro staples, like salmon and steak, accompany well-executed sides. The kitchen seems to take its cue from the relaxed pace of the restaurant, serving nicely cooked lamb rather cold, and a soupy vanilla ice cream with a tepid tarte Tatin. The huge crispy duck salad makes the lobster-Cobb look overpriced. Dessert fanatics should exercise their options at the well-stocked zinc bar.
