David Chang could open a Milk Bar and it would be a success. Actually, that’s exactly what he did when he swung open the shiny Momofuku Bakery & Milk Bar. Pastry wiz Christina Tosi executes the menu, which is both sweet, savory, and a combination of the two: salty pistachio soft serve ice cream is a hit. So are slices of chocolate pretzel-topped Candy Bar Pie and the sugar-loaded Crack Pie. The pork buns that made Momofuku Noodle Bar such a hit make an appearance. So does a Momofuku take on the Egg McMuffin, which is sprinkled with pig fat and fluffy egg and would make a loyal fast food patron re-think their breakfast destination. Milk, of course, is on the menu, the favorite being “Cereal Milk” which is first steeped with corn flakes and then strained.
