THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Moustache---Brooklyn serves savory and inexpensive Middle Eastern food in an extremely casual setting. There are no frills, although dining in the back garden during the summer is charming. The usual array of Mediterranean appetizers---baba ghanouj, tabbouleh, hummus, cracked olives---are good here, but the main attractions are the fresh-baked puffy pita sandwiches stuffed with sliced lamb or falafel and salad topped with tahine and the Brooklyn-invented pitza, a large round of the freshly house-made bread topped with highly spiced meats, vegetables or small slices of whole-milk cheese.
