Dining room at Otto Enoteca Pizzeria, New York, NYAnticipating the hungry masses, Food Network face and ubiquitous West Village scooter driver Mario Batali created a gimmicky system at Otto: diners are given the name of an Italian city upon entry and then have to slavishly watch the authentic-looking railway timetable until their train is departing. From the man who brought us Babbo comes Otto's thin-crusted pizzas---it's understandable if you have high expectations. One word of advice: don't expect to eat the pizza from your last trip to Italy. We do, however, recommend the garlic, olive oil and fresh chile pie. Antipasti include anchovies with breadcrumbs and scallions or eggplant caponatina. If you can grab a spot in the large front bar area, dine on antipasti there while you enjoy a quartino (quarter bottle) from a nice selection of Italian wines.
