THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Palio Restaurant Review:
To impress business clients, start in the visually arresting bar, which features a huge mural of the famous Siennese racing festival painted by Sandro Chia, a Florentine artist whose work hangs in the Museum of Modern Art. This elegant, dramatic two-level restaurant in the Equitable Center serves simple yet superb Italian cuisine. Appetizers include tuna tartare and polenta with scallops. Then move on to homemade pastas like ravioli, tortellini and tagliolini. Among the favorites on the dessert menu are crêpe flambé with berries, zabaglione and panna cotta. Given the stunning setting, the $49 pre-theater dinner menu is a deal. Not only are jackets required here, but sneakers and jeans (as some casual folks have been known to pair with jackets) are forbidden.
