THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Pamir Restaurant Review:
Diners stepping into this romantic Afghan restaurant first soak up the ambience created by candlelight, wall-hung Afghan rugs, soothing music and spice-perfumed air. Many then order the popular aushak appetizer (dumplings filled with scallions, yogurt, meat sauce and mint) and, for the main course, either a combination plate (including the dish of seasoned lamb and saffron rice known as orange palaw) or the chicken kebab with tomatoes, onions and green peppers thats served with basmati rice. The dessert menu features baklava and an Afghan pudding of milk, cornstarch, pistachios and rosewater. Also located at 1065 First Ave., 212-644-9258.
