THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Perla Restaurant Review:

On cozy Minetta Lane, Gabriel Stulman (Fedora and Joseph Leonard) owns this Italian restaurant under the watchful eye of chef Michael Toscano. Toscano knows a thing or two about Italian food: he came from Babbo and was a chef at Eataly's Manzo before joining the Stulman clan. Cocktails are thoughtful and creative; the Tombstone Sunday Nights, for example, was conceived as a throwback to the mixologist's childhood ritual of pairing Tombstone pepperoni pizza and Dr. Pepper. The wine list leans heavily towards Italy and France and offers three-ounce tasting pours, which allow you to pair a different wine with every dish you order. The menu changes often, but hope for the opportunity to sample the braised octopus and vitello tonnato. Agnolotti filled with pork, and charred beef tongue, a huge portion of rich, tender meat, might also be available. For dessert, the date cheesecake with walnut crumble captures the essence of the place: familiar but sophisticated in a way you're not quite expecting.
