THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Permanent Brunch Restaurant Review:

The highly anticipated (and much delayed) East Village all-day brunch spot serves up creatively concocted breakfast-oriented dishes. As one would expect, Permanent Brunch is most popular on weekend mornings, so be prepared to wait. Otherwise, lunch and dinner is a better bet and the menu, while egg-centric, translates to any meal. The ham-and-cheese-stuffed french toast, four inches thick and simmering in a zesty maple-mustard jus, is one of the menu highlights. The baked egg in a bland spare rib ragù did not fare as well, while sugar-coated zeppole, crunchy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside, are a good choice. The artisanal bacon section of the menu tempts, particularly when it includes Hungarian smoked Kolozsvari bacon. The menu is reasonably priced, but the eatery gets you with other costs. Want toast with your brunch? It’s going to cost you an extra $3. Coffee is two bucks per fill.
