THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Piola Restaurant Review:

This flashy, colorful pizza chain has largely conquered South American taste buds and if the slogan scrawled across its bright red awning--famosa per la pizza--is any indication, it has ambitions to do the same in New York City. New York-pizza lovers should note that there are no thick-crusted, liberally-topped pies here. Piola serves up whole, thin-crust pizzas dotted with toppings (they do make one nod to American eating habits with a heavy sprinkling of cheese). Given the selection, it's surprising (and, in our opinion, refreshing) that Piola doesn't experiment much---the most might be in the use of chicken on a pizza---which, by the way, is tasty.
