| Pò is the restaurant that put Mario Batali, of Babbo fame, into the critical New York foodie radar, and though he is no longer associated with the charming restaurant, the creative Italian food he inspired remains. Pastas might include lush white bean ravioli with balsamic; other good dishes are marinated quail with black plums or a meaty osso buco redolent with orange zesty. The warm apple tart makes for a fine ending, and the all-Italian wine list is replete with savvy selections. The romance of the quiet Greenwich Village setting and the fact that there are only twelve candlelit tables makes a reservation hard to get. |
