| PT Restaurant transports diners straight to Italy under the guidance of its “right from central casting” waitstaff and its fresh Italian dishes. Starting with seasonally appropriate asparagus gratin or a fennel salad with olives, capers, red onions and raspberry vincotto, and followed by a pasta course of homemade ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta in a subtle butter and sage sauce, the cuisine is strikingly simple but full of flavor. Heartier choices include rosemary-crusted branzino or oven-roasted pork tenderloin wrapped in puff pastry. The airy zabaglione-and-strawberries dessert is a winner. A nice selection of wines is available to complement the dishes. The cellar-like restaurant has long tables surrounded by bar stools that feel plucked from a tiny trattoria in Italy. In summer, the garden is a lovely place to dine and escape the Williamsburg hipster scene rambling along the sidewalks outside. |
