| Once housing Tokyo LaMen and then an outpost of the mini-chain Ramen Setagaya, this space is now Ramen Takumi, a peaceful and nicely designed Japanese place focusing on, you guessed it, ramen. The menu’s long list of noodle dishes won’t shock a Japanese cuisine aficionado. Nor will fans of beloved ramen joints---such as nearby Ippudo---be able to make comparisons. The miso ramen broth, for example, lacked complexity and thickness. The curry ramen, though, was rich and deep and perhaps the most satisfying item on the menu. The limited beer and saké offerings help wash it all down. |
