| Imagine a Vegas-style cabaret crossed with a Communist Russian vodka bar crossed with the senior prom, and you've got Rasputin. The traditional Russian food (served banquet-style) is just barely passable and the service is gruff. Chicken in a brown sauce, for instance, was so nondescript it was like a mystery meat. All the hors d'oeuvres we tasted lacked any sparkle whatsoever. But be sure to keep a bottle of icy vodka on your table and to stick around long enough to catch the show---you're in for an unforgettable treat. Arrange for a car service to pick you up, and by all means plan on sleeping in the next day. In spite of our reservations about the food we've had, would we go back again and again? You bet---it was that much fun. |
