| Opened by Ken Friedman (one of the movers behind The Spotted Pig), this West Village nautical-themed bar and eatery doesn’t miss a cliché: captains' wheels and hokey paintings of ships in the night are tacked on the walls, a fish tank competes for visual attention and a wall board with plastic letters acts as the menu. Which, by the way, is filled with plenty of pub grub goodness. The menu is split up between affordable snacks to go with the beverages (boxed wine, tapped brews, and cocktails served in tiki glasses) and more substantial entrées: a soft pretzel-wrapped hot dog; a juicy meatloaf sandwich; and a fall-off-the-bone-tender rib cooked in Coca-Cola. |
