| We like the Second Avenue Deli for its pastrami, soul-warming chicken-in-the-pot, fat specials (hot dogs) served with sauerkraut and beans, cholent (a casserole of beef, potatoes, beans and barley), creamy chopped liver and the bowl of sour and half-sour pickles and pickled tomatoes that sits on every table for nibbling while you decide. The Lebewohl family, who have been in the deli biz for eons, has captured the frantic hustle and bustle of a turn-of-the-century eatery. |
