| One of a very few New York City restaurants with a prime oceanfront location and knockout views of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge as well, South Fin Grill on South Beach is the first to take advantage of the revitalized Staten Island beachfront. The restaurant appeals to many groups: ladies who leisurely lunch while contemplating the water, late-night party-goers who enjoy the outdoor bar and music, local foodies who appreciate fine dining, and romance-seeking couples. Seafood is a specialty at this attractive spot and the raw bar selection offers West and East Coast oysters, shrimp and clams. Some dishes are hit or miss, like the terrific lobster roll served on a very wrong bun or the muddy mystery clam, bacon and corn chowder served alongside a good Caesar salad. Grilled fish dishes are happily prepared simply with olive oil, capers and lemon. There’s a full menu that allows for all-day dining, with cocktails and desserts rounding things out. |
