Terroir Tribeca Restaurant is one of our 2012
| Top 10 NY Wine Bars Restaurants

Like its seasoned sibling in the East Village, the TriBeCa outpost of Terroir has a large, eclectic wine list. Co-owner and sommelier Paul Grieco's obsession with Riesling wines has translated southward (there's even a Finger Lakes Riesling on tap) and so has his proclivity for including many affordable but not-easy-to-find bottles. There are two dozen reds and about an equal amount of whites by the glass; they're also offered in three-ounce sizes, encouraging imbibers to sample an array of vino. The food menu includes some stalwarts from the East Village location: a good duck prosciutto sandwich, for example, or the red wine and oxtail risotto balls, which were inconsistent (some were too dry while others were moist and loaded with more oxtail). The thin, dry-aged Creekstone steak, though, was flavorful and nicely executed. The spacious room, bedecked by the building's raw materials (including wood beams and exposed brick walls), does a fine job of capturing the architectural terroir of TriBeCa.
