Vegetarian Paradise Restaurant Review

: Serving the vegetarian community of New York City for over a decade, Vegetarian Paradise offers a special fusion of Asian-soul food. The portions are large, the atmosphere unobtrusive, and the moon cakes and other goodies well-priced. For starters, try the scallion pancake---a pan-fried vegetarian pancake with bits of scallions, or the Maryland crab cake---a vegetarian version of the crab cake and taters served with Vidalia onion vinaigrette. Main courses range from mango chicken, which consists of fresh slices of mango, vegetarian chicken, sautéed onions and red bell peppers sautéed in a citrus Thai marinade served in a mango shell; Mississippi soy chops, grilled pepper soy cutlets served with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and a collard green roll; or stuffed lotus leaf---whole grain sticky rice with shiitake mushroom, vegetarian duck, chestnuts, mung beans and soy protein.
