 This sleekly contemporary trattoria is all marble counters, blond woods and modern Italian light fixtures. The menu includes compelling items including a warm salad of octopus and roasted seppia with artichokes, asparagus and fava beans; house-made tagliolini with clams and zucchini flowers; and risotto with beets, lobster, calamari and roasted bell peppers. Meats from the wood-burning rotisserie and oven are especially good, featuring roasted quail with crispy guanciale and sliced New York steak with summer black truffles. Fish also can be handled well, such as the filet of Mediterranean sea bass with artichoke purée. The wine list is impressive, as are the desserts, such as a caramelized apple purée in caramel cake with green-apple sorbetto.
