Wolfgang Puck might as well be the mayor of Los Angeles, culinarily speaking, and WP24's vantage point on the 24th floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles at L.A. Live affords a grand view of his constituency. For the main dining room, the design firm ICrave dreamed up light-flecked lanterns that emulate the surrounding the buildings at night and give the feeling that one is floating in the middle of the cityscape. Puck, along with longtime executive chef Lee Hefter, has crafted a contemporary Asian menu that's carried out by chef de cuisine Sara Johannes. Compose your own three- or four-course prix-fixe menu with starters like the dim sum tasting plate, followed by mains such as Singapore style soft-shell chili crabs or lamb chops marinated with Korean gochujang chili. Whole roasted Peking duck for two is presented tableside, then carved and served with the traditional accompaniments of steamed buns, scallions, cucumber and hoisin sauce. We highly advise saving room for the creations of pastry chef Sally Camacho. The wine list features 300-plus labels, as well as a number of sakés.
