THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Atria Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Chef Martin Brock understands this space well. He was understudy for Gray Kunz when the spot housed Grayz. Now all his, Atria exudes timeless elegance in a bi-level subterranean setting of mahogany, dark leather and floral accents. A skylight above the soaring ceiling naturally illuminates the lower level dining space by day. Start by perusing the wine list, an impressive compendium of old- and new-world, as well as regional wines. Then move on to the gnocchi topped with a Parmesan sauce; despite the heaviness of the ingredients, the gnocchi are surprisingly delicate. The braised veal short ribs served on a bed of hominy grits and accompanied by a shredded veal sausage is bold and hearty, but each ingredient manages to work in harmony and not individually overpower the dish. Eschewing dessert would be a mistake here; for the waistline-conscious the passion fruit ice topped with coconut sorbet is a refreshing duo of citrus and sugar. Service is unobtrusive and professional.
