ZZ's Clam Bar Restaurant Review:

If money is no object and you’re in search of another passionate creation from Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone, diminutive ZZ’s Clam Bar should satisfy on multiple levels. In this quirky shoebox of a restaurant with only 12 seats, raw seafood bites and inventive cocktails take center stage. Wines by the glass are also offered with a short list curated by mixologist Thomas Waugh. Small plates are categorized as toast, ceviche, tartare, crudo, seared or carpaccio. Each dish is well composed, with such artistic presentations as Japanese sardines with Concord grapes, or Scottish salmon with honey mustard and dill. While the dishes themselves are light and not necessarily filling, starting with a rich slab of uni spread on pretzel toast with a bit of mustard oil, and ending with a slice of the tangy Key lime pie will help. The “bouncer” standing guard at the door is a signal you’ve arrived someplace special.
