Ignore one of the more ridiculous restaurant names in the city and indulge in mollusk heaven. Beyond the owners’ pedigree---they own two restaurants on Prince Edward Island and have brought in a world-champion oyster-shucker to do that dirty business---the menu includes 23 different varieties of mussels at this austere spot decorated with artwork from PEI. The flavors span the globe, from the Caribbean (the Negril, with peppers, jerk sauce and Red Stripe in the sauce) to Ireland (the Dublin, mussels cooked in Guinness with walnuts and caramelized onions) to Thailand (the Thai, with coconut curry broth). But you’re better off sticking with the basics, as the flavorings from the far-flung destinations tend to be hit or miss. Beyond the pound of mussels in a pot, the menu lists a few basic seafood standards like lobster rolls and fish ‘n’ chips, but mussels are literally, and figuratively, the name of the game.
