| The ever-nostalgic Shelly Fireman has done it again with a New York-themed eatery. Only Fireman has the guts to open a string of New York-themed restaurants in New York. His others are Fireman's of Brooklyn and Brooklyn Diner. (He also owns Trattoria dell Arte and Redeye Grill.) At his latest, the menu runs the gamut of New York food: from hamburgers to foie gras, lobster to fish 'n' chips, aged beef to Chinese. The four-level emporium---in the former home of Motown Café, a theme palace that didn't make it---also spans a broad range. A martini lounge, dance floor and terrace garden, as well as almost 300 seats for diners, make up the mix. We suppose people are more attracted to the spectacle then the food, as is the case in several of Fireman's eateries. |
