Charlie Bird is something of an anomaly in New York: a very scene-y restaurant where the food actually lives up to the promise. The Italian/American menu changes frequently, but expect dishes such as spaghetti with sausage or duck and sage. Sip a cocktail or a selection from the wine list, which consists of mostly French and Italian labels that will intrigue the aficionado. Even if you don't make a love connection, at least you got to enjoy a night out at one of SoHo's hottest spots.
