November 4, January 20, February 24, March 9, April 27, May 11 Different Pointe of View at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort has announced the fall and spring schedule for their “Insider’s View” dinner series. As a fresh twist on the typical winemaker’s dinner, Different Pointe of View’s chef Anthony DeMuro hosts the event and prepares the multi-course meal tableside, which is paired with wines from the featured vineyards. The wine pairings and additional wine information will be shared by either the winemaker or owner of the featured vineyard. Each evening begins with a 6:15 p.m. reception in the Terrace room and proceeds to the main dining room. Different Pointe of View is proud to host a variety of exceptional winemakers and winery owners at the series' future installments. Upcoming Insider's View dinners and their featured guests include: November 4: Chris Benziger is the owner of Benziger Winery, a California-based vineyard that specializes in biodynamic, organic wines. January 20: Richard Bruno is the owner and winemaker of Vinum Cellars, a small California winery that works with more than 14 grape varieties from El Dorado to Napa Valley. February 24: Andrew Schweiger is the winemaker of California-based Schweiger Vineyards, a vineyard that features rich volcanic soils and unique microclimates particularly favorable for Cabernet Sauvignon. March 9: Josh Maloney is the winemaker at Milbrandt, a Washington-based winery owned by a team of brothers. April 27: Jesse Katz is the winemaker at Roth Estate Winery, a family owned winery located in the rolling hills of Alexander Valley in the Sonoma Coast. May 11: Chuck Parker is the Cellarmaster at Trinchero Family Vineyards, a Napa Valley institution since 1948 credited with creating the first white zinfandel. February 12 The 10th Annual First Press Fine Wine Auction is the Southwest's premier celebration of fine and rare wines. This event will be held at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa on Saturday, February 12, 2012 from 6 p.m.-11p.m. The auction features an evening of gourmet dining paired with the finest wines, a fabulous silent auction, live entertainment and the live auction of rare and collectible vintages -- donations from private cellars, corporate collections and fine wine vintners from around the world. This year's proceeds will go to benefit the KJZZ Youth Media Project, which is an educational outreach program that mentors "at risk" Valley teens in the areas of digital media and broadcast journalism. First Thursdays The Arizona Biltmore is preparing eight incredible epicurean evenings for the resort’s 22nd season of Winemaker Dinners where guests will experience bold, inventive menus paired with specially selected wines from California and France, spend time with the creators of the wines, and enjoy a haute couture element of fashion and jewelry shows by Saks Fifth Avenue. The four- to six-course dinners with wine pairings take place every first Thursday of the month, beginning in October. A reception starts at 7 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. After the dinner, enjoy complimentary Port and cigars. The cost is $95 per person. Ongoing Cheuvront Wine & Cheese Experience hosts wine dinners twice monthly from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. on Thursdays (sometimes moved to Wednesdays). Cost is $65 and includes four courses and wine pairings.
