Green Flash Double Stout

Top 10 Sipping Beers

Green Flash Double Stout is described by the brewery as a modern American version of the old-world classic

Green Flash Brewing Company Double Stout Black Ale

The San Diego-based Green Flash brewery describes this ale as a modern American version of the old-world classic. While its Target hops and beer style originate from the UK, it's loaded with the assertive, bold flavors that today signify the American way of brewing. As the name suggests, this black ale is quite dark and has double the malt and double the alcohol strength you would encounter in the average every-day stout. The addition of oats contributes to a full body and creamy, smooth finish, rounded out with roasted malt, bitter chocolate and coffee. At 8.8 percent ABV, it's a complex beer to savor and drink slowly, appreciating each sip.

Price: $10 for 4-pack 12 oz
