The series debuts with an inaugural winemaker dinner featuring Heidi von der Mehden of Arrowood Vineyards and Winery in Sonoma Valley on Thursday, June 5, followed by ongoing tasting events and dinners through Fall 2014. The 2014 Hollywood & Highland Summer Jazz Concert Series will feature a free concert every Tuesday in July in the Central Courtyard (2nd Level) at Hollywood & Highland Center. The concerts will run from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Wine tasting and light appetizers are $10, with all proceeds from the wine bar directly benefiting Project Angel Food (www.angelfood.org), a non-profit organization whose mission is to deliver free and nutritious meals to men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS and other serious illness. Mr. C is hosting a series of interactive wine dinners. The Perrier-Jouёt Champagne & Oysters Poolside Soiree on July 9th will feature a fresh oyster bar, as well as hor d'oeuvres like branzino ceviche served with citrus and chives vinaigrette, deviled eggs with caviar, and a selection of European cheeses, breads and prosciutto. The Wally's 9th Central Coast Wine & Food Celebration will take place from noon-4 p.m. at Wally's Wine & Spirits. Brew at the Zoo will take place from 7 p.m.-11 p.m. at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Guests can sample beer from local craft microbreweries; there will be four-ounce beer samples, a DJ, live local bands and pub-style grub for purchase. The fifth annual LA Craft Beer Crawl will kick off on Saturday, August 9, at 1 p.m. in downtown Los Angeles. Ced Moses of 213 and Hallie Beaune and Christina Perozzi ("The Beer Chicks") have collaborated to bring unlimited craft beer tastings to eight different participating bars, all within walking distance of one another. The festivities begin at Casey's Irish Pub where participants will check in and receive a map of where to find the 100-plus craft beers featured. The fourth annual Los Angeles Food & Wine event will take place at various venues in downtown Los Angeles. The four-day celebration will feature culinary experiences, demonstrations and the Lexus Grand Tasting. This year’s event will include the first ever Chase Sapphire Preferred Chef Challenge, where two L.A. chefs will team up with visiting chefs to compete for charity.
