Saddle Peak Lodge presents a wine dinner featuring Martian Ranch & Vineyard with seatings from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Executive chef Christopher Kufek’s six-course menu will feature dishes such as pork belly spring rolls; fried soft shell crab with buttermilk biscuit, asparagus salad and bacon vinaigrette; and grilled lamb with piquillo yogurt, braised eggplant, pomegranate sauce and curried cauliflower. The Rhone Rangers ride into Los Angeles on Sunday, June 23, 2013 with over 50 wineries pouring their American-grown Rhone wines. Events include a seminar, lunch with the winemakers and a walk-around tasting reception. This event takes place at Vibiana, an historic site located in the vibrant downtown area of Los Angeles at 214 South Main Street, near the LA Times Building. The General Admission Ticket provides entry to the consumer walk-around tasting from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Food trucks in the courtyard will provide tasty treats for purchase to complement the wine tastings. Bid on wine and wine-related items at the silent auction; proceeds from the auction will benefit the Rhone Rangers Scholarship Fund. This event ends at 6 p.m. (last pour at 5:45 p.m.). The Drink:Eat:Play Wine Festival, presented by BevMo, will take place at the Santa Monica Pier on Sunday, June 23 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Attendees will have access to over 50 wineries, hundreds of wines and the perfect evening setting. General Admission is $50 and VIP is $60. Both admissions include wine, with VIP attendees admitted an hour early and free admission to the pier’s Pacific Park (rides and games). To commemorate Beachwood BBQ & Brewing’s two-year anniversary, brewer Julian Shrago is pulling out more than 25 Beachwood Brewing beers from the archives. This all-day event will feature rare Beachwood brews on tap, many of which only one keg exists, including Mocha Machine, Mrs. Stoutfire, Barrel Aged Full Malted Jacket, Zwick in a Box, Clear & Present Manger, Beachwood Six, Tovarish '12 and an anniversary double IPA called Dank Matter. Following the success of its “Whiskey Wednesday” series, Next Door Lounge has launched “Cognac Confidential,” a new monthly tasting series highlighting the various Hennessy Cognac marques and its versatility as a revered spirit and delectable base for innovative cocktails. The “Cognac Confidential” experience, comprised of the guided tasting, signature cognac cocktail and delicious bites, costs $60 per person. The annual cancer research benefit, Concern Foundation Block Party, starts at 6 p.m. at Paramount Studios. This year's theme is "A Salute to Television." There will be live and silent auctions, four stages of live musical entertainment, food from more than 50 Los Angeles restaurants, and tastings of wine, beer and specialty drinks.
