THE TASTE food and wine festival takes place over Labor Day weekend at Paramount Pictures Studios September 2-4
Annual L.A. Times food and wine festival THE TASTE will transform Paramount Pictures Studios' backlot into an epicurean pop-up and block party over Labor Day weekend. Five events will take place from Sept. 2 to Sept. 4 and will include unlimited tastings from the city’s best kitchens and a variety of wine, spirits and seasonal cocktails. There's an opening night party, panels and discussions with L.A. Times staff and top chefs, and dinner with Jonathan Gold. Among participating restaurants are Badmaash, Little Pine, Love & Salt, M.B. Post, Son of a Gun, Sweetfin Poke and Providence. Tickets for each of the Saturday and Sunday events range from $100 to $125. For details and to but tickets, visit the event website.

Mondays
Silverlake Wine offers “Blue Monday” wine tastings to take the edge off the beginning of the week. Participants enjoy samples of three wines along with farmhouse cheeses, olives and Heirloom LA bread. Price is $15 per person. The tastings run from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. each Monday evening. Third Wednesdays
On the third week of every month from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., Eagle Rock Brewery presents a Women's Beer Forum. Thursdays through Saturdays
Pasadena’s Le Petit Vendôme wine store offers tastings every Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m., every Friday beginning at 6 p.m. and every Saturday beginning at 3:30 p.m. Each tasting features 10-15 wines. Apart from Thursdays, when each pour is $1, the price of each tasting varies. Birch offers a three-course, prix-fixe Sunday Supper for $35 Sundays
