Mara Baer and Manuel Moreno opened The Spanish Square, a European marketplace and restaurant, in Lakeview. While the market sells jamón Ibérico, cheeses, wine and other specialty items, the restaurant’s menu focuses on inventive tapas. The Spanish Square, 1358 W. Katana from Innovative Dining Group is scheduled to open late summer 2016 in Chicago’s River North. The West Hollywood location of the Japanese/sushi restaurant features dishes like robata skewers of chicken liver and rockfish, and a dry-aged steak cooked over binchotan charcoal.
