Top 10 Sipping Beers

STRONG DARK ALE

Unibroue Terrible

Made by the Belgian-inspired Canadian brewery Unibroue, as its name implies, Terrible is terribly strong and complex. The alcohol strength is a powerful 10.5 per cent ABV, backed up with a balance of flavors that mimic dark fruits, licorice, cocoa, raisin, cinnamon, vanilla, honey, figs and dates, all complemented by rich Madeira wine notes. The deep brown appearance is matched with a light tan head which pours with high carbonation. Made with 100 per cent natural raw materials, Terrible will pair well with grilled and smoked meats and refined cheeses, and performs well as an aperitif, after dinner digestif or a pleasant alternative to coffee.

Price: $9 (750 ml)
