On the Fly, based in Washington, D.C., is an "Ecovending" service that champions local businesses (from Buzz Bakery breakfast brioche to Rocklands' red oak and hickory barbecue), shuttling it around in environment-friendly battery-powered vehicles they call SmartKarts. They also offer their prepackaged food products, snacks and healthy drinks for eating on-the-go at fixed locations called SmartKafes.
