This April, Buzz Bakery is celebrating National Frog Month with a special selection of amphibious sweets. Pastry chef Josh Short has set out to learn why it's not easy being green, given that the color lends itself to offerings such as iced Kermit Cookies, priced at $2.25 each. Other themed treats available include Frog Legs, pistachio lady fingers dipped in dark chocolate for $3.95, Frogger Pie, made with an Oreo crust and crème de menthe cream (priced at $16 for a nine-inch pie or $2.95 a slice) and Frog Eye Parfait, a play on the traditional frog eye salad with pasta, whipped topping, pineapples and Mandarin oranges for $3.95 each. Bourbon Steak has introduced flights of rare and exclusive Scottish and American whiskies to its beverage program. The Whiskey Tasting Trios allow guests to enjoy three whiskies that have at least one common feature, be it producer, region or bottler, while learning about the characteristics that make each drink unique. Pastry chef Santanna Salas has created a Chocolate Trio dessert ($16) to complement the flights: Ovaltine-soaked devil's food cake with chocolate ganache and dehydrated chocolate mousse, chocolate custard with red velvet cake, spicy pecans and chocolate foam and chocolate brownie with Nutella ice cream.
