Deals might include special prix-fixe menus or deeply discounted prices for two, and often include beverages such as cocktails, beer or wine. Charlie Palmer and his associates have sold San Francisco's swank Mystic Hotel and downstairs speakeasy Burritt Room + Tavern to 417 Stockton St., LLC, and the restaurant has a new name, Mystic Room + Tavern. Burritt Room + Tavern, Mystic Hotel , 417 Stockton St., San Francisco, CA 94108, no phone.

Closings

Several San Francisco old-timers have closed with the beginning of 2018. On Market Street, DeLessio Market & Bakery, for decades a top choice for classic cakes, pastries and deli fare, has shuttered. On Polk Street, Greek restaurant Myconos has closed, alongside old-school sushi spot Nara Sushi.

Meritage at the luxury Claremont Club & Spa has closed, with no word yet on its replacement. The elegant hotel and private club is a signature locale for special occasion dining in the East Bay. In the wake of Meritage's closure, Limewood, a second restaurant within the hotel, will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, and now brunch on weekends. Meritage at the Claremont, Claremont Club & Spa, A Fairmont Hotel, 41 Tunnel Rd., Berkeley, CA 94705, no phone.

Only months after shuttering soulful Fillmore District outpost 1300 Fillmore, owners David Lawrence and Monetta White have also pulled the plug on their current location of Black Bark BBQ. The restaurant, hailed as offering some of the best barbecue in San Francisco, will apparently return sometime in 2018, just in a new location. Black Bark BBQ, 1325 Fillmore St., San Francisco, CA 94115, no phone.

Glen Ellen Inn Oyster Grill & Martini Bar is temporarily closed for repairs. Glen Ellen Inn Oyster Grill & Martini Bar, 13670 Arnold Dr., Glen Ellen, CA 95442, 707-996-6409.
