John Harvard's Brew House has re-opened after revamping its interior and menu. The new space has flat-screen televisions, a visible brewery and an entertainment stage. The menu offers eight craft beers and comfort food fare like Yankee pot roast, bourbon and ale salmon and brewery nachos. Belly Wine Bar, sibling to The Blue Room and Central Bottle, has opened in Kendall Square. Wine, cheese, oysters, charcuterie --- it doesn't get much better than this romantic little gem that features wines by the glass, bottle and half bottle. "Big Night" Dinner at Grotto
Grotto is hosting a multi-course dinner themed around the foodie flick "Big Night." Courses will include timpano and whole roasted pig. Guests are encouraged to dress in 1950s-style attire. L'Espalier's Louis Risoli Named a Certified Cheese Professional
Cheese expert, L'Espalier Fromager Louis Risoli, has been named a certified cheese professional with the American Cheese Society in their inaugural class. If you aren't familiar with the accolade, cheese experts (known as fromagers) must now pass certification tests to be called an "American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professional." Grafton Street Pub & Grill Hosts Harvest Beer Dinner
Now that Labor Day is past, it's time to look to fall. To celebrate all the flavors that come with the season, Grafton Street Pub & Grill is hosting a four-course harvest beer dinner on September 18 at 7 p.m. For $40, you can nosh on day boat scallops, smoked duck rillette, pork tenderloin and chocolate terrine all paired up with brews from High & Mighty Beer Co. Michael Navarrete is chef at The Regal Beagle Michael Navarrete is stepping in as head chef at The Regal Beagle, taking over from Laura Henry-Zoubir.
