Openings

Open in Midtown on Peachtree Street, Villains Wicked Heroes is a project of Alex Brounstein, who owns Grind House Killer Burgers; Jared Lee Pyles, former executive chef at HD1; and FLIP burger boutique alum Jason McClure. The "heroes" are inventive sandwiches, which may be dished up gluten-free "skeletor style," or bread-free. An occasional Cajun note enters some of the offerings, such as "duck debris" gravy on a Cajun roast turkey sandwich. Vegetarians have several quite zesty-sounding options. Lunch & Dinner daily. Villains Wicked Heroes, 903 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30309, 404-347-3335.

Chef/owner Ron Eyester of Rosebud and The Family Dog opened his third venture in the neighborhood: Timone's. Conceived as a New York pizzeria and neighborhood joint, Timone's serves more than just pizza. The menu offers sandwiches and pasta dishes. Local New Yorkers will like being able to get egg creams. Both beers and wines on draught are among the quaffs. Brunch is being planned. Lunch Sat.-Sun., Dinner nightly. Timone's, 1409 N. Highland Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30306, 404-809-2979.

Roswell restaurateurs Hicham Azhari and Fikret Kovac (F&H Food Trading Group) launched their third venture in downtown Historic Roswell and fourth "OTP" endeavor: OPULENT. The group's culinary director Bob McDonough and executive chef Andrew Long direct a globally inspired kitchen serving classic favorites with a modern twist. Recalling the Roaring Twenties' speakeasy style, OPULENT's interior boasts globe lighting and walls lined with antique mirrors and crystal accents. Dark brown woods and leather banquettes contrast diamond-shaped white tiles beneath suspended light pendants hung above the bar and dining areas. OPULENT, 948 Canton St., Roswell, GA 30075, 770-998-3114.
