Jack & Diane's Genuine Food & Drink shares ownership with 10 Degrees South, namely Justin Anthony, who named the place for his mother and grandfather. Justin's parents, Derek and Diane Anthony, who also designed the menu at 10 Degrees South, are the culinary creators at Jack & Diane's, and she will serve as its executive chef. Open in Chastain Square in Sandy Springs on Roswell Road, the 4,000-square-foot restaurant also offers a 1,200-square-foot patio. Atlanta-based Wolf Design served as the design firm on the project. Vintage photographs of athletic and rock ‘n' roll stars adorn the walls. Styled as a gastropub, the restaurant tilts to manly fare, such as burgers and steaks. Lunch & Dinner daily. Jean-Georges Vongerichten has opened his second Atlanta restaurant, Market, in the W Atlanta - Buckhead. The hotel, extensively renovated, now showcases the classic modern design the hotel chain has made its trademark, and that continues into the restaurant, located on the entrance level. The menu features a global approach to cooking, with Asian-influenced dishes and many featuring the subtle heat of New World cooking. Patrons will enjoy exotic ingredients, such as honshimeji mushrooms, as embellishments for familiar dishes, such as glazed short ribs. Pizza showcases the aromatic melding of truffles and Fontina. Craft Atlanta and Craftbar began taking reservations Nov. 15, and opened for service Dec. 8. Craft founder Tom Colicchio will lead the team at this newcomer, located at The Mansion on Peachtree, A Rosewood Hotel & Residence, but in a separate freestanding building facing Peachtree Rd. The bar, seating 80, is located on the bottom floor, while the restaurant on the second level seats 135 patrons. Kevin Maxey has been named chef de cuisine for the operation. The cuisine will focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients, while including Southern classics, such as beignets. Service is family-style, and the restaurant will also accommodate guests at the hotel for room service. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner daily. Thursday Wine Deals for the Holidays
As a holiday gift to its patrons, Woodfire Grill will offer its wine list at half price on Thursdays now through to the end of the year. Max Lager's Grill & Brewery is offering a turkey dinner to-go for the holidays, including a house-smoked turkey breast and all the trimmings. Blue Willow Inn Opens a 50s-style Soda Fountain
Louis and Billie Van Dyke, owners of the Blue Willow Inn, opened their long-planned adjacent village of retail shops on November 20, 2008. Truffle Time at Antica Posta
Antica Posta Tuscan Restaurant & Bar celebrates the long-anticipated arrival of Tuscany's white truffles, perhaps the most expensive food ingredient on the planet. After suffering a devastating break-in and substantial vandalism, Lamplighter has closed, but will reopen in early March as a burger joint, called Shame Burger. Owner Michael Burkholder saw that nearly one-third of orders were for the Scrapple burger, a cholesterol feeding frenzy of burger, slice of scrapple and runny fried egg on top. He developed a series of burgers that he thinks will be appealing, and the new restaurant will serve them up in paper bags to be toted off property or to enjoy on site, but there will be no table service.
