After suffering a devastating break-in and substantial vandalism, Lamplighter has closed, but will reopen in early March as a burger joint, called Shame Burger. Owner Michael Burkholder saw that nearly one-third of orders were for the Scrapple burger, a cholesterol feeding frenzy of burger, slice of scrapple and runny fried egg on top. He developed a series of burgers that he thinks will be appealing, and the new restaurant will serve them up in paper bags to be toted off property or to enjoy on site, but there will be no table service.
