RESTAURANT NEWS

Openings

Doug Brown closed his Southside bistro Amuse but only in an effort to relocate to Victory Park (under a new name). The old Amuse address will now be inhabited by a new Brown creation: Sala. Those who like a little flair with their Southwestern food might make this a regular stop. Lunch & Dinner daily, Brunch Sun. Sala, 1326 S. Lamar St., Dallas, TX 75215, 214-428-7300.

If you happen to crave burgers and fries on a regular basis then head to the Dallas Galleria for its latest restaurant debut: Five Guys Burgers and Fries. The eatery is known for its french fries, and now Dallas finally gets to sample the Five Guys or Cajun-style potato pleasers. Lunch & Dinner daily. Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Dallas Galleria, 13350 Dallas Pkwy., Dallas, TX 75240, 972-239-8470.

Bolsa Bolsa has opened in Oak Cliff and "fresh" is the focus of chef Graham Dodds' kitchen---no freezer or fryer in the vicinity. Local vendors support the effort. Texas tomatoes with mascarpone, goat cheese and basil and lemon-honey cake with peaches make good noshes at the wine bar with its affordable bottles and house-made sangría. Lunch & Dinner daily, Brunch Sun. Bolsa, 614 W. Davis St., Dallas, TX 75208, 214-367-9367.

Of this amount, $5 will be donated to Craft's charity of choice.
