Chef Tim Love of The Lonesome Dove Western Bistro has opened Queenie's Steakhouse in what was previously the Denton location of his burger restaurant Love Shack. Offering a modern take on the classic steakhouse, the menu features Texas-raised beef and sides like truffle macaroni and cheese with cripsy artichokes; grilled asparagus with cured lemon and chili flakes; and creamed spinach and kale. Garland's BurgerFi will be the newest location of a Florida-based "better burger" franchise that's eco-friendly, as well as budget-friendly. Décor is made from recycled materials (like chairs made from old Coke bottles). The menu centers on juicy hamburgers, freshly made from hormone and antibiotic-free grass-fed Angus beef. Also available: a plethora of toppings; sides including hand-cut fries and crisp-battered onion rings; and beverages ranging from milkshakes made in-house to craft beers. John Tesar to Prepare Dinner at James Beard House
Chef John Tesar of Spoon Bar & Kitchen in Dallas will present a special dinner at the James Beard House in New York on May 10, 2013. The event is entitled Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles! Dishes will include cuttlefish crudo with hearts of palm, jalapenos and pink peppercorns; gnocchi with Maryland blue crab and black truffle emulsion; and swordfish steak with wild mushroom crust and red wine-squid ink sauce. New Bar Menu at Lockhart Smokehouse
Lockhart Smokehouse in Dallas has introduced a new bar menu with options like "pigs in a blanket" made with Kreuz sausages. The bar also features a rotating selection of Texas beers on draft, plus happy hour specials Mon.-Fri. from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. including $3 domestic bottles, $4 import bottles, and $1 off well liquor and wine. The outdoor patio at the Deep Ellum location of Il Cane Rosso Expansion Plans for Il Cane Rosso
Il Cane Rosso, which serves up authentic Neapolitan pizzas in Deep Ellum, will open a second location in White Rock at 7328 Gaston Avenue Suite 100, Dallas, TX.
