Dish Restaurant & Lounge is billed as "al fresco dining with night life." At the helm is executive chef Brian Sommers of Jasper's and Rick's Chop House. Dish delivers affordable dining that brings together fresh and simple ingredients to make classic dishes. The menu features an updated version of home-cooking that revolves around seasonal produce and meats bought from local farms and purveyors. Flat breads, barbecue, free-range roast chicken and flat-iron steaks are just a few examples of the menu selections. The Belmont Hotel in Dallas is now home to SMOKE Restaurant, an old-fashioned smokehouse featuring wood-fired flavors. Chef and co-owner Tim Byres bills his restaurant as "hardwood cooking from scratch." The menu features simple ingredients prepared from classic Southern recipes. The kitchen utilizes three types of cooking techniques: the cold smokehouse, barbecue pit and hardwood grill. The cold smokehouse uses a cast-iron stove to smoke cured meats such as ham, bacon and sausages that include cajun Andouille and Texas hot links. The comfortable, home-spun ambiance features a rustic patio and live music, peppering southern nostalgia with contemporary touches. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner daily. Ed Bailey recently opened the über upscale Bailey's Prime Plus in the lively Park Lane development, located at Central Expressway and Park Lane. The 12,000-square-foot steakhouse is the picture of opulence with marble flooring, a fine art collection and reflection pool in the middle of the dining room. The twenty-five-foot glass wine cellar stretches to the ceiling and houses 5,000 bottles of wine from the finest regions all over the world. Meats are supplied by Allen Brothers and represent all Prime center cuts. Main dishes feature steaks, seafood, lobster and lamb. House of Blues Gospel Brunch is Serving up Soul!
Sunday gospel brunch is held at House of Blues in Dallas's White Swan building on Sundays, beginning at 12:30 p.m. The brunch buffet includes breakfast breads, pasta, salads, peel-and-eat shrimp, fried chicken, smoked meats, carved roast beef and ham, desserts and more. A Taste of the Mansion
The Mansion Restaurant at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek offers a Taste of the Mansion lunch for $29 Sunday through Wednesday. The three-course menu offers an appetizer, main dish and dessert and might feature dishes like pork tenderloin, white cheddar grits, wild mushrooms and peas. Avanti Euro Bistro, located in Addison Circle, has closed, allegedly due to repossession. The upscale Mediterranean and European eatery was nestled in the cafe-lined streets of Addison's restaurant row. Two locations still remain open in Dallas, at Fountain Square and McKinney.
