Holiday Menus at Chef Mavro
From December 20 through January 2, Chef George Mavrothalassitis presents two special Holiday Menus at Chef Mavro in Honolulu. The four-course meal offers grilled Hamakua mushroom and macaroni gratin; crispy fillet of flounder; lamb loin with a chick-pea crust, bulghur wheat, dates, up-country vegetables and yogurt-garlic sauce; and lilikoi malasadas with guava coulis and pineapple-coconut ice cream. The six-course meal includes dishes such as Hudson Valley foie gras au torchon crusted with cocoa nibs and candied pecan garnished with pickled grape, citrus infused celery and toasted Portuguese sweet bread; wagyu rib-eye and corned short ribs; Big Island goat cheese blanc manger with cranberries, marcona almonds, and Hirabara baby greens; and a Chocolate Black & Tan (blondie, chocolate-coke float, guinness froth). The four-course meal costs $78, or $129 with wine pairings, while the six-course menu is priced at $120, or $175 with wine pairings. Chef Mavro, 1969 S.
