While pulling from their strong heritage of Northern Italian cuisine, Cavallini and Nistri aslo offer a contemporary spin, with shared plates and homemade pasta dishes, all in a sleek modern setting. The dining room of Delicias San Diego’s Newest E-wine List
Embracing the ubiquitous iPad and cutting-edge technology, Delicias will be the first on the block to offer their wine list electronically. Guests will receive an iPad tableside, so they can peruse the wine list with the touch of their fingertips. There are plans for added bonuses like chef's notes on specific bottles and suggested food pairings. The e-List will also feature "wines of the day," "top picks," and reviews. Delicias also has plans for a 5,000-bottle wine cellar in the near future under the expertise of Advanced Sommelier and general manager Gene "Gino" Campbell. Campbell will also offer wine classes starting in July on Saturday afternoons. Iconic Restaurant is Revamped on Shelter Island
Attention tiki lovers, the classic Bali Hai Restaurant, circa 1953, has undergone a major renovation by revered San Diego architect Graham Downes. It’s chic modern design still pays homage to tiki culture and a South Pacific vibe, while Mai Tais and merriment set the tone. Enjoy sunny breezy afternoons on the lanai by the bay, sampling coconut shrimp, ahi tartare, crispy spring rolls, wok-fried whole striped bass and szechuan chicken. Chef Shuffle

Patrick Ponsaty has been named chef de cuisine of Mistral. This fifth-generation French chef started working in his father’s restaurant at age 10, and went on to train in a variety of acclaimed restaurants in France and Spain. Previously in San Diego, he served as chef de duisine at El Bizcocho at Rancho Bernardo Inn. At Loews Coronado's fine-dining restaurant, Mistral, Pontsay will present a new menu favoring French cuisine with Mediterranean flavors.
