Tails From the Patch
At the gorgeous U.S. Grant Hotel, the ever-talented mixologist Jeff Josenhans from The Grant Grill has launched his delicious summer seasonal cocktails. Each unique sipper features herbs grown in the hotel's rooftop garden, highlighting the uber-local and seasonal bounty of summer's fresh herbs. Some of his cocktail creations include a zesty Lemon Mint Mojito made with 10 Cane Rum, muddled lemon mint, fresh pressed Meyer lemon and seltzer water. Or try the Rooftop Garden Tour infused with Tanqueray Sterling vodka, muddled Russian taragon and Florence fennel mixed with white peach puree. These seasonal must-trys run till September 15th, 2011. Stone Flats Expands Menu
Located in Scripps Ranch, the popular craft-your-own flatbread restaurant, Stone Flats, has recently added  three new flavorful flats, five delicious signature salads, and a new soup and dessert options to the menu. Committed to healthy ingredients and gourmet yet convenient casual food, Stone Flats is already expanding in San Diego, with plans to go national. 11-Course Tasting Menu at the Gaslamp's Blue Point Coastal Cuisine
The James Beard-nominated executive chef of Blue Point Coastal Cuisine, David Barron, has launched an 11-course tasting menu featuring high-quality ingredients flown in from around the world. Many of his forward-thinking dishes are molecular gastronomy-inspired, such as root beer-flavored cotton candy wrapped around fresh hiramasa belly with tsume chile; short rib prepared sous vide for 60 hours, accompanied by horseradish, potato and guajillo; and lobster lollipops rolled in corn nuts and pop rocks. Sweet tooths will covet his peanut butter brittle crisps served with freeze dried blueberries and chipotle chocolate mousse. "The Experience" is available for up to 16 people every Thursday and Friday evening, beginning at 7 p.m. sharp, and costs $99 per person. A smaller six-course version will also be available every evening at a lesser price point, and will be offered throughout the entire dining room with full table participation required.
